A Day in Cardiology with AI4CMR: Wall Motion Classification

As a cardiologist, time and accuracy are everything. Today, I had two very different cases — both highlighting just how impactful AI4CMR’s wall motion classification capability is in daily clinical decision-making.

Case 1

Patient presenting with dyspnea and fatigue
AI4CMR detected abnormal wall motion with 100% confidence. This allowed for early prioritization of the case, and subsequent evaluation confirmed dilated cardiomyopathy. The AI output facilitated timely follow-up and management.

Case 2

Asymptomatic patient undergoing routine assessment.

AI4CMR reported normal wall motion with 90% confidence. This gave me reassurance that the findings were consistent with a healthy heart, later confirmed by standard CMR evaluation.

These examples demonstrate how AI4CMR can assist in streamlining workflow and supporting diagnostic decisions. It serves as a complementary tool, offering a consistent and rapid second layer of analysis.

By extending beyond segmentation and quantification to include automated classification of global contractility, AI4CMR adds a useful dimension to how we assess heart function.

  • Accelerated decision-making
  • More efficient case prioritization
  • Enhanced diagnostic consistency
